Comparison of Mozilla Firefox 4 and Microsoft Internet Explorer 9

I have just installed MSIE 9 and Firefox 4 rc2 on my computer.

User interface on both browsers are similar. Firefox'es home-button moved to right of url bar. Just back-forward buttons are visible. Tabs are on the top. Url-bar are shorter.

Javascript performance on both systems are similar. Some tests with jquery gave Firefox more points. But Firefox still needs more ram than msie.

Both systems support HTML5 and CSS3.

The visual difference between MSIE8 and 9 is more than the one between Firefox3 and 4.

Firefox let resize textareas.

web development tool Firebug for Firefox

The most popular web development tool for Firefox

Firebug integrates with Firefox to put a wealth of web development tools at your fingertips while you browse. You can edit, debug, and monitor CSS, HTML, and JavaScript live in any web page.
Just the way you like it

Firebug is always just a keystroke away, but it never gets in your way. You can open Firebug in a separate window, or as a bar at the bottom of your browser. Firebug also gives you fine-grained control over which websites you want to enable it for.

Enable vertical scrollbars in Firefox permanently with CSS2

Sometimes we build websites with both long and short pages. Some of them dont need scrollbars and browsers dont display scrollbars as default. But if you have centered container Firefox change tha x-place(margin to left) depends on scrollbars. It looks like design/position problem. To prevent this we need permanent enabled scrollbars but not horizontally. We can enable xy scrollbars with "body { overflow: scroll; }". There is no property for just y in css2. In css3 there are properties like overflow-y, overflow-x etc. Use following code to fix it:

 html { height: 101%; }

CSS vertical text for mozilla-firefox?

I have no problem with internet explorer. This code works on msie but not on mozilla firefox.

I need it for a table header (data grid view). Is there a solution without text-over-images for both msie and ff?

How can I disable Firefox Pop-up blocker for local html files?

Mozilla firefox has a nice Pop-up blocker, normally you can disable it for websites you trust. But I have a problem while testtin something with javascript on local files: I have a .html file on my desktop, when I double click it opens in ff with an url like: file:///c:/......html. I try to add it to ff trusted list it adds just "c". And when I try it next time my popup blocked again. How can I solve this issue without turning off popup-blocker completely?

Ajax Error when using Drupal with Firefox

Importing interface translations

Error importing interface translations
Please continue to the error page
An HTTP error 404 occurred. /batch?id=10&op=do

This happens when I try to add a language. There is no problem if I try it with Internet Explorer. I am using Drupal 6.9 and Firefox 3.0.6.

Any idea?
